On Monday April 12th, ahead of the rescheduled Olympic and Paralympic Games this summer, IUA welcomed a group of student athletes and sport and academic experts to discuss, Ensuring the Success of our Female Student Athletes.
Keynote speaker Anna Geary and our panellists debated the current status of women in sport and the tangible actions needed by universities and sport organisations to fulfil the potential of each athlete.
Host Máire Treasa Ní Cheallaigh led two panel discussions over the course of the webinar.
- A student focused panel featuring three high-level students athletes, Paralympic athlete Mary FitzGerald, Irish Rugby International Kathryn Dane and Irish 400m Athlete Sophie Becker.
- A group of experts across university sport and external voices, including Nora Stapleton of Sport Ireland, Ken Robinson of DCU, Michelle Millar of NUI Galway and our keynote speaker Anna Geary.
